„ Only travel is life, as life is travel “
Jean Paul

Situated in a quiet side-street and just a stone’s throw away from the historic market place of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund, the owner-managers Ilka and Monica Herrmann welcome visitors to their lovingly reconstructed guesthouse ‘Old Town – Monk’ which has retained much of its original period features.
The listed building accommodates elegantly furnished en-suite guest rooms with all amenities. A sumptuous breakfast including freshly ground coffee, crunchy roles and home-made jam can be enjoyed in the tastefully decorated breakfast room.
The guest house is ideally placed in it's proximity to the historical centre of Stralsund which has been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage site in 2002. The Old Town surprises its visitors with numerous sights such as the Old Market Square with its 13th century Town Hall, the Gothic Wulflamhaus, the impressing church St. Nikolai with art treasures inside or the church St. Mary at the new Market.
A visit to Stralsund would not be complete without a trip to the harbour. Here you find old brick warehouses, the obligatory waterside bars and restaurants and even a theatre which gives performances in the summer. The unique atmosphere makes the harbour of Stralsund a real attraction.

„No enjoyment is transitory;
the impression which it leaves is lasting.“
Johann Wolfgang Goethe
